Walking Tour: The Hyde Park Community

Hyde Park is the 41st of the 77 community areas of Chicago, located on the South Side near the shore of Lake Michigan. This neighborhood is known as culturally rich, with many institutions and landmarks to visit and explore. These locations will be represented in the walking tour map. 

Hyde Park has one of Chicago's popular architects, The Harper Theatre, located South Harper Ave. There you can enjoy latest films and take in this historical building as it was built in 1913. Hyde Park is also where the two well visited museums, The Museum of Science and Industry and The Oriental Institute Museum, are located. Here you get to experience history of ancient Near East and learn first hand about science. And in the spring while walking out of The Museum pf Science and Industry you could walk past the beautiful cherry blossom trees located just south of the building in Jackson Park.
